What people say about Kiki

Supporting Business Development:

If all presenters were as compelling as Kiki Maurey, the business world would be a much brighter place. I first met Kiki in 2010, when I attended a workshop on ‘The Power of Persuasion.’ Her incredible energy and the way that she worked the room, involving and engaging the entire audience were captivating. I had to find out more. After a couple of further meetings, I engaged Kiki as my executive coach and we have been working together ever since. ‘Life coaching’ this is not. Kiki manages to achieve a powerful and transformative balance of challenge and support. By encouraging me to think more strategically, Kiki has helped bring about significant step-changes in my business and, by guiding me towards greater self-awareness, she has helped me to develop strategies that are leading to greater self-fulfilment and purpose. Kiki is the executive’s Swiss army knife. She really does have all the tools to help you enhance your performance and your business’s bottom line. Metaphorically, I carry her with me everywhere I go.”

Jo Chin, Chief Operating Officer, Langland

Making difficult decisions:

Working with Kiki was refreshing and challenging. She immediately connected with the specific challenges and opportunities of my circumstances and doing my Motivational Map with Kiki did two things:

1. Challenged my preconceptions about what motivates me and made me focus on what really matters to ME at this stage of my career.
2. Gave me a framework and criteria to evaluate the various opportunities I could pursue so I can now prioritise my time and focus on how I can be properly paid for my work.

Kiki offered clear and objective guidance and I left fully charged and raring to go!”

Caroline Trotter

Non Executive Development:

I was very lucky to find Kiki on my doorstep in the New Forest.  For six years, I had bumbled through my role as a Secretary of State appointed member to the New Forest National Park Authority, I was regularly questioning my credibility and ability to influence decisions.  Finding Kiki through the internet was like striking gold.  Kiki dramatically influenced the way I work.  She made me feel more confident which turned around my perception of my influence and now I feel far more effective.  As Kiki lives in the middle of the National Park she was quickly able to grasp the issues that were challenging me, but this was only a tiny benefit to our working relationship. Our coaching sessions were designed to help me become more confident at chairing some particularly contentious meetings.  It took just two of out of four sessions for Kiki to transform my confidence and as I became more effective Chair, the remaining meetings served to embed new behaviour.  With my main goal achieved, our mentoring sessions went on to cover a huge range of subjects in a fast paced and holistic fashion.  Kiki quickly gets to the root of issues, suggests some great solutions, entertains with lovely anecdotes and shares endless hints and tips.  She is a great leveller and our meetings were really enjoyable.  Much of her guidance I now use on a regular basis.  Kiki has taken me on a journey that has created a happier, more confident and effective me.  Thank you.”

Dr Vicky Myers, Deputy Chairman New Forest National Park Authority

Career Progression:

“My sessions with Kiki have taught me the importance of taking time out each day to reflect on what I have achieved and what I would do differently next time. This overview has helped me become more efficient and effective in dealing with my team and day-to-day tasks.  My sessions with Kiki could not have been at a more appropriate time, as Banking was going through the most turbulent period ever, and a company restructure meant my previous role no longer existed. Kiki and I discussed the importance of being adaptable and welcoming ongoing change as standing still is not an option for a successful leader. Kiki gave me the confidence and belief that I would be successful in obtaining one of the more senior roles in bring two businesses together in the restructure and having discussed some positive examples through with Kiki, I was successful at interview and now leading a larger more senior team. I am results-driven and I do challenge my team and processes to get results. I now have the ability to get more from my team and peers by using “I wonder what would happen if… ?” phrase to get their ideas – a great tip from Kiki. I know the importance of being tough and resilient, yet have the ability to show empathy and sense people’s strengths and development areas early on in a relationship. I discussed my new team with Kiki and it was great to have her challenge when going through the plans for my first team meeting. Kiki helped me in setting ground rules, acknowledging with the team the year they have had, and thanking them for their loyalty and patience, yet still getting my new teams buy-in in setting team values and our vision and the right culture. In Kiki I have not only had a fabulous mentor but made a friend for life. Thank you so much.”

Julie Baker, Regional Director Business & Commercial Banking, NatWest

Professional Development:

“I have worked with Kiki for the past seven years primarily relating to the enterprise and business support agenda. Kiki is an inspiring, deeply knowledgeable and highly rewarding consultant to work with. I have recently been working with Kiki in a new capacity as she has become my executive/business coach. This work with Kiki has had an immeasurable impact on my professional life. Kiki has an outstanding ability to get the best out of people and to help them focus on their personal development and tangible goals. After six months of sessions, I feel more confident in my own abilities and skills and better positioned to take control of future opportunities to develop and grow my career. I owe this transformation to Kiki.”

Julie Kapsalis, ex-Director of Business Programmes, SEEDA

Clarity and Focus:

“My first impression of Kiki was ‘wow’ – she is a true inspiration and when I had the opportunity to have some executive coaching time with her, I jumped at it. From the start, it has been a growing relationship in which she has challenged me and pushed me out of my comfort zone when appropriate. It has been hugely beneficial to have some ‘me time’ and talking things through, Kiki has a natural ability to clear the clag and create an opportunity for me to realise the options available and then pursue and implement the chosen route. She has helped me through what has been one of the most difficult times in my career and personal life and the future is exciting. Thank you Kiki, you will never know how much you really have helped.”

Andi Keeling, ex-Head of Learning now Director, Womens’ Markets Corporate Banking UK, RBS

Business Boost:

“Kiki, thank you for two great coaching sessions. Warm, challenging and credible. I’ve now got a vision of what I’m going to be doing in five years and a business plan for the work bit of that vision and I’ve already started to turn the words on paper into action.

• Could I have produced a vision and business plan without your coaching? Possibly, as I do this stuff for a living.
• Would I have ever got round to doing it? Unlikely, without having a date in the diary to meet you.
• Would the result have been as positive if I’d done it on my own? Definitely not. Little Miss Caution would have reigned.

Carole Claridge, Director, C2 Management Consulting Ltd

Distance Coaching:

“Before Kiki started coaching me I had enjoyed the experience before. However, Kiki simply does not compare – she is an extraordinary woman / coach. Despite the hundreds of miles between us and not having met once, Kiki transfers our telephone conversations into much more than talking. It was fascinating for both of us that coaching worked very well over this distance and she truly inspired, challenged and guided me – thanks to her skills! The only precondition is that you open up to Kiki and share with her what is on your mind. She will be able to help you develop and achieve your goals, I am very confident about that. What I learned from this great experience is that distance simply does not matter when you have an experienced coach like Kiki. It is also totally irrelevant whether the meeting place is over the phone or face-to-face. Just have faith in Kiki, trust me!”
